DK01. (3 Hours ) NAIROBI CITY TOUR 11 PTS The tour covers the modern city center, the colourful City Market, Parliament Buildings, the Railway station and the renowned National Museum where there are spell bindings displays of the early man, tribal regalia and the flora and fauna of Kenya. A visit to the adjacent Snake Park is also included. DK02. (4 HOURS) NAIROBI NATIONAL PARK The tour starts at 2.00 p.m. This unique sanctuary is just a few kilometers from Nairobi’s bustling City Centre but despite its proximity there are many species of mammals that can be found there including four of the Big five. The tour returns to the City Centre by sundown. Private tour of the same can be organized in the morning for groups. DK03. (3 HOURS) KAREN BLIXEN AND THE GIRAFFE CENTER Depart in the morning or in the afternoon. Drive towards the Ngong Village to the Karen Blixen Museum, for many years this was her home. Later proceed to the Giraffe Centre to see and feed the famous Rothschild Giraffes. DK04. CARNIVORE EXPERIENCE} Guaranteed daily at 12.30 p.m. and 7.00 p.m. Nairobi has many restaurants offering varieties of cuisine. We recommend a dinner or lunch at the Carnivore, which is famous for the succulent stew and barbecue dishes of game meat as an excellent compliment to a holiday in Kenya; especially as an excellent welcome or farewell dinner. DK05 (3 HOURS) BOMAS OF KENYA} A Bomas is a homestead and just s few kilometers from the City. Numerous homesteads reflecting Kenya’s cocktail of cultures have been faithfully recreated for visitor’s to see traditional village life. But the greatest excitement during the afternoon is a visit to the display to the traditional dancing music and folklore songs performed in splendid arena. DK06. NAIROBI NATIONAL PARK & BOMAS The National Park, only 8 Km from the City Centre is Nairobi’s pride for no other bustling capital can boost a paradise of wildlife almost on its doorstep. The morning is spent tracking some of the many species found in the park which include Rhino, Lion, Buffalo, Leopard and Cheetah. After lunch at Carnivore Restaurant, continue to Bomas of Kenya for a fiesta of traditional music and dance. The tour ends in the early evening. DK07. HALF OR FULL DAY TO PARADISE -KIAMBU CAVES Leave the madness of the concrete jungle – Nairobi City and drive to the largest picnic site in Kenya (54 acres). This is the home of the 2.5 million years old stone age caves, trees thought to be hundred of years old while the river reeds have stories to tell. We have nature trails which lead to a silver cut water fall (about 10m long). Activities include feeding the Maasai Ostrich, watching birds (about 82 different species have been recorded). Tour of the 600 acres of coffee, horse riding the “ship of the desert” – camel. Also fishing for black Bass and Tilapia and also boat riding. DK08. MT. LONGONOT AND LAKE NAIVASHA Leave Nairobi City – The concrete Jungle – and drive westwards stopping at the view point on the Great Rift Valley and view the Loita Plains and also from here you can see Lake Naivasha sparkling in the sun thousands of feet below. Then proceed to Lake Naivasha (and this is the highest Lake in the Rift Valley). Also Lake Naivasha is famous in the 1930’s as a staging post for Imperial Airways Flying Boat Services from Durban to London. You can have a boat ride to the Crescent Island (an option activity). NB: Crescent Island is one of the few places in all Africa where you can wander on foot among herds of Zebra, Wildebeests, Gazelle and Giraffe and no predators. DK09. DAY RTIP TO THE CHIMPANZEES SANCTUARY Depart Nairobi and travel north, where you drive past pineapple, coffee, banana plantations to one of the largest open air markets in East and Central Africa – Karatina. A brief stop to sample what is sold and to meet the local inhabitants who belong to the biggest tribe in Kenya – the Kikuyu. Proceed to the sweet waters game reserve / ranch and chimp sanctuary, which is on your way to Mt. Kenya, in time for lunch. Game viewing and visiting the chimps in the one – square kilometer sanctuary. This sanctuary is home to more than 26 orphaned chimps age varying from 02-15 years most of which came from Jane Goodall Institute in Burundi. Return to Nairobi in the late evening; (latest inclusion is baby Zee rescue from a pet shop in United Arab Emirates). DK10. ONE DAYTO THE BIRTHPLACE OF THE KIKUYU TRIBE} After leaving Nairobi, drive north passing through by Chania Falls, pineapple plantations, papyrus reeds growing on the roadside, coffee plantations on the way and later, arriving in Murang’a town formerly Fort Hall (have lunch at your own pace). Proceed to the sacred tree – the “Mugumo” i.e. fig tree. This area is known by the local dialect (Mukurwe-ini wa Nyagathanga” there is a small museum and a guide will give you the history of the Kikuyu cultural traditions etc return to Nairobi in the afternoon. DK11. (DAY RTIP OLDONYO SABUK NATIONAL PARK) Leave early in the morning and arrive at Thika town then visit Chania Falls before your proceed to Fourteen Falls via one of the largest pineapple farms in East Africa (Delmonte). On arrival you will be guided to the falls by an armed ranger because of many buffaloes which inhabit the surrounding (the hill is known by the local Kamba tribe “Kilimabogo” – mountain of buffaloes). Return to Nairobi at your leisure arriving in the evening. DK12. (NGONG HILLS AND SHALLOM PICNIC SITE) The excursion can either be a whole day or half day. And it takes you past the Ngong town and proceed to the top of the hill to wonderful views of Lake Magadi plains of the Nguruman and Uaso Nyiro rivers, lakes Natron etc Later on, proceed to Shalom picnic site for relaxing and also a place to meet the local people. DK13. (WALJEE NATURE TRAIL) (1 DAY) Depart Nairobi and drive past Karatina into Mukurwe-ini town in time for lunch. Afterwards drive to Waljee camp which is two kilometers from Mukurwe-ini. A guide will lead you to the nature trails where it is home to the rare Barbet and other different species of birds about 220 species recorded. Return to Nairobi late in the evening. DK14. (TWO DAYS KIBWEZI FOREST) Day 1: Drive south through the Kapiti Plains on the Nairobi – Mombasa road. Arrive Kibwezi in time for lunch at Umani springs camp (Luxury) or in your selected camp. There is a waterhole – well maintained to attract wildlife. Explore the lava flow and the swamp inhabited by crocodile and a 4 kilometer nature trail. Return to camp for dinner and overnight (budget camp can also be arranged). Day 2: After breakfast return to Nairobi or explore the forest en-route arriving in the evening. DK15. (LAKE NAKURU NATIONAL PARK)(1 DAY)12 PTS Lake Nakuru lies in the volcano strewn Rift Valley. One of the chains of 8 lakes which stretch the length of Kenya from Tanzania to Ethiopia. The 160 Km drive from Nairobi passes through highlands farms of the Kikuyu people before descending an escarpment into the dramatic landscape or the Rift Valley. Lunch is taken in the park and is followed by and extensive tour of the park. On the return journey to Nairobi a stop is made at Lake Naivasha where tea is taken among the fever trees and where bird-watchers will be delighted in the fantastic array of bird life. DK17A. (AMBOSELI NATIONAL PARK )1 DAY AND 2 DAYS NAIROBI AMBOSELI A night in the park enables a more leisure encounter with the magnificent array of the wildlife than is possible on the day of safari. The tour leaves in the morning reaching Amboseli National Park in time for lunch. An afternoon game drive in the area of the permanent swaps which reveal much game, large and small, eminently photogenic in these splendid surrounding. Dinner and overnight at lodge or near the park. AMBOSELI – NAIROBI On the second day there is an early morning game drive before leaving for Nairobi which is reached in time for lunch. DK18. (TREE HOTEL) – 1 ½ DAYS There are “tree hotels” in the vicinity of Nyeri about 160 Km north of Nairobi. Treetops and the Ark in the forest of the Abardare Mountains and Mountain Lodge is on the slopes of Mt. Kenya. The drive passes the small industrial town of Thika surrounded by extensive pineapple plantations. After crossing the Tana River, source of much Kenya’s hydro power, the landscape changes and becomes more lush as you climb in to the rich farmlands of the Kikuyu people. Lunch is taken at the Outspan Hotel in Nyeri. Visitors can also visit Treetops Mountain lodge and the Aberdare Country Club instead of the Ark. In the afternoon proceed to your animals visit the floodlight water holes and saltlicks. Elephant, Rhino, Buffalo, Giant forest hog and many other species are commonly seen. TREE HOTEL – NAIROBI (DAY 2) In the morning descend to your hotel before returning to Nairobi in time for lunch. DK19. (3 DAYS AMBOSELI ) 1 PTS Day 1: Nairobi / Amboseli. Pick up 900 hrs from hotel. 1000 hrs: Leave Nairobi and drive south through Maasai Country via Namanga on the Tanzania border and on to Amboseli (Picnic Lunch served en-rout). On arrival, settle in the camp/lodge 1630hrs permiting proceed for a short game drive which provides a chance to see Rhino, Lion, Giraffe, Elephants and many other animals with Mt. Kilimanjaro. Africa’s highest peak providing a beautiful backdrop. Dinner and overnight at the camp/lodge. Day 2: Amboseli 0630 hrs: Proceed for an early breakfast game drive. Return to the camp/lodge for breakfast. After breakfast proceed for a further game drive or to a camp/lodge. 1530hrs: Proceed for a late afternoon game drive returning to camp/lodge for dinner and overnight. Day 3: Amboseli/Nairobi After breakfast leave camp/lodge for the last game drive from 0630 – 0900 hrs. Leave Amboseli Park for Nairobi. Picnic lunch is served en-route. Arrive at Nairobi in the afternoon. DK20. (3 DAYS MAASAI MARA ) 2 PTS Day 1: Nairobi / Maasai Mara – pick-up 0900 hrs from hotel. 1000 hrs: Depart from our Nairobi office for a journey south along the floor of the Great Rift Valley. Lunch at Narok and then climb the western wall entering Hemingway Country: “Serengeti Plains” Arrive late afternoon in the Maasai Mara Game Reserve. Set up a camp or check in lodge. Early evening the game drive returning to the camp/lodge for dinner and overnight. Day 2: Maasai Mara A full day spent game viewing across (from 0800-1830 hrs) the rich, tree studded grassland and rolling hills. The famous Mara is renowned for its great herds of plain’s game, black manned lion, leopard and cheetah. It also numerous elephants and virtually every type of wildlife to be found in Kenya. All meals and overnight at campsite/lodge. Day 3: Maasai Mara / Nairobi Pre-breakfast game drive from 0630 – 0930 hrs, back to the camp lodge for late breakfast. Leave Maasai Mara, lunch en-route arrive in Nairobi late afternoon. DK21. (4 DAYS MAASAI MARA / NAKURU ) 3 PTS Day 1: Nairobi / Maasai Mara – pick up 0900 hrs from hotel 1000 hrs: Drive through rich Kikuyu farmland to the edge of the Rift Valley. Descend the escarpment and drive via Narok to Maasai Mara Game Reserve. Picnic lunch is served en-route. The Maasai Mara adjoins Tanzania’s Serengeti National Park. Maasai Mara is famous for its Black manned lion and yearly migrations of Wildebeest and Zebra, Elephant, Buffalo, Rhino, Gazelle, Leopards, Giraffe are also found here. 1630 hrs: Game viewing is done en-route to the campsite/ lodge. Time permitting a further game drive in the afternoon. 1830 hrs: Dinner and overnight at the camp / lodge. Day 2: Maasai Mara / Nakuru A full day spent viewing and exploring this spectacular National Park. All the big five can be seen. Maasai Mara is also famous for its bird life. Meals and overnight at the camp / lodge (0800 – 1800 hrs). Day 3: Maasai Mara / Nakuru Pre-breakfast game drive 0600 – 0930 hrs. Late breakfast, leave camp and proceed to Nakuru. Dinner and overnight at the hotel / camp. NB: No game drive in Nakuru National Park Day 4: Lake Nakuru / Nairobi 0800 hrs: After breakfast spend the morning watching and photographing birds and animals in the park. 1100 hrs: Depart hotel / camp after lunch and leave fro Nairobi stopping for panoramic views of the Great Rift Valley en-route. Arrive at Nairobi in the afternoon. DK22. (4 DAYS SAMBURU / NAKURU) 4 PTS Day 1: Nairobi / Samburu. Pick up 0900 hrs 1000 hrs: Drive north via Mt. Kenya past coffee plantations to Samburu Game Reserve noted for the unusual reticulated Giraffe, Grevy’s Zebra, Gerenuk and Somali Ostrich. Picnic lunch and game drive en-route. Dinner and overnight at the camp / lodge (1630 hrs – 1830 hrs). Day 2: Samburu Full day in Samburu Game Reserve with early morning and late afternoon game viewing. Meals and overnight at the camp / lodge. 0630 – 0930 hrs. 1530 – 1830 hrs. Day 3: Samburu – Nakuru 0630 – 0830 hrs: Leave after breakfast with game drive en-route. Drive past the northern tip of the drive en-route. Drive past the northern tip of the Aberdare Mountains to descend into the Great Rift Valley where Lake Nakuru is located. Picnic lunch en-route arriving in the afternoon. Meals and overnight at a Nakuru Hotel camp. Day 4: Nakuru – Nairobi After breakfast proceed for game drive in Nakuru National Park. Lunch at 1200 hrs and depart Nairobi arriving later afternoon. This itinerary is also available in reserve order. DK23. (4 DAYS TSASO WEST AND CHYULU HILLS) Day 1: Very early morning leave Nairobi and drive south past Kapiti Plains arriving in time for lunch at your camp / lodge. Explore the Tsavo West Park in the afternoon. Return to the camp for dinner and overnight. Day 2: Leave after breakfast and have a game viewing drive, a visit to the Mzima Springs which are not far from the lodges or camps. The pool is rich with Hippos, Crocodiles and bird-life. There is an underwater viewing chamber to give you a view of sub-marine activities. Return to the camp for dinner and overnight (you will carry packed lunch so that you don’t come back to the camp). Day 3: After breakfast, visit the Shetani Lava Flows and the Chyulu caves (the caves are just outside the Chyulu gate). Continue to Chaimu Crater South of Kilaguni lodge, this can also be trekked (time allowing). Day 4: After breakfast, visit the Ngulia Rhino Sanctuary at the base of Ngulia Hills, you have a good chance of seeing the Black Rhino (we have about 30). Depart and drive back to Mombasa / Nairobi road on your way back to Nairobi; lunch en-route. DK24. (4 DAYS SACRED MAASAI SHRINE) (NAMANGA HILLS) Minimum 3 persons Day 1: Depart Nairobi and drive south on to the great north road past the Kapiti Plains past the Maasai Administrative town of Kajiado. Then proceed on to Bissil town and on the campsite for lunch and prepare your walking gear on to the Namanga Hills. Dinner and overnight at the camp. Day 2-3: After breakfast start walking / trekking with Maasai Warriors and the resident guide with the equipment for the ritual and the slaughter goat / sheep. Day 4: Trek down to the camp and then rejoin your transport back to Nairobi either in the afternoon or in time for lunch. DK25. (5 DAYS MAASAI MARA / NAKURU) 5 PTS Day 1: Nairobi / Maasai Mara. Then back north to the remote Lake Bogoria and Baringo; a bird watchers and naturalist’s paradise. Day 1: Nairobi / Maasai Mara. On arrival at Lake Baringo in the afternoon, set up camp / check in at a lodge. Those who prefer can organize for a boat trip to see the many birds on the island. Dinner and overnight at the camp / lodge. Day 2: Baringo / Maralal / South Horr 0700 hrs: After breakfast, leave Baringo for Maralal. Picnic lunch en-route. A walk after lunch through the most colourful town, before proceeding to Baragoi via Isiolo which is on the edge of the Great Rift Valley. Dinner and overnight at the camp / lodge. Day 3: South Horr / Lake Turkana 0730 hrs: After breakfast, leave South Horr for Lake Turkana arriving in time for lunch at El-molo campsite / lodge which is on the shore of Lake Turkana. Rest for the day at leisure by the Jade Sea. Dinner and overnight at the camp / lodge. Day 4: Lake Turkana After breakfast, visit the El-Molo village. Lunch at camp site / lodge. Day 3: Maasai Mara Full day game viewing in the Mara with an option of nature walks or a visit to the nearby Maasai village in between the meal breaks. 1600 hrs – 1830 hrs: Dinner and overnight at the camp / lodge. (Maasai village visit available at extra cost). The optional activities require prior arrangements with the driver (guides as regards the fee to be paid). Day 4: Maasai Mara / Naivasha After breakfast, leave for Lake Naivasha. After lunch, visit Hell’s Gate National Park and the Geothermal Power Station. Proceed to FusUUherman’s camp / lodge for dinner and overnight. Day 5: Lake Naivasha / Lake Nakuru Leave after breakfast and drive to the home of millions of flamingoes and the home of the white and black rhino and about 350 different species of birds. It is also known as Ornithological Paradise. Dinner and overnight at a budget hotel / lodge. Day 6: Lake Nakuru / Bogoria / Baringo After breakfast, drive to Bogoria where the hot water springs abound and plenty of medicinal springs. After lunch, visit Lake Baringo. A boat trip to see various species of birds and very ancient caves. The boat ride is only one hour. If you require hours, one pays direct. Dinner and overnight at a budget hotel / lodge. Day 7: Samburu After breakfast, leave for Samburu via Thompson Falls. Lunch en-route arriving late afternoon. Dinner and overnight at the campsite / lodge. Day 8: Samburu After breakfast, depart for an early morning game drive. Return to the camp / lodge for lunch. 1600 hrs another game drive. Dinner and overnight at the campsite / lodge. Day 9: Samburu / Mt. Kenya After breakfast, leave Samburu for Mt. Kenya (Nanyuki) arriving in time for lunch. After lunch, visit the Mau Mau Caves (where Kenyan freedom Fighters could hide from the British Troops during the struggle for Independence). Dinner and overnight at a budget hotel. Day 10: Mt. Kenya / Amboseli via Nairobi After breakfast, drive fast the biggest open air-market in East and Central Africa (Karatina). Proceed to Nairobi arriving in time for lunch in one of the restaurants. Continue to Amboseli via Kenya / Tanzania border (Namanga) arriving in Amboseli late afternoon. An evening game viewing drive. Dinner and overnight at the campsite / lodge. Day 11: Amboseli Early morning game drive before breakfast. After breakfast have a whole day game viewing. Optional: - - Maasai Village visit - Nature walk - Swimming in one of the lodges (All at extra cost) Return to campsite / lodge for dinner and overnight. Day 12: Amboseli / Tsavo West After breakfast, drive via Chyulu Hills to Tsavo West National Park arriving in time for lunch. Afternoon game viewing drive and a visit to Mzima Springs (the source of drinking water for Mombasa). Return for dinner and overnight at the campsite / lodge. Day 13: Tsavo West / Tsavo East After breakfast, drive to Tsavo East which is renowed for its large numbers of elephants and the famous man eating lions (during the building of the Kenya / Uganda Railway in 1980). Lunch on arrival. Game drive. Dinner and overnight at the campsite / lodge. Day 14: Leave Tsavo East either to Mombasa or Nairobi. DK31. (6 DAYS LOITA (MAJI MOTO – NGURUMAN) This is an eco-tourism related programme for those in search of adventure while on foot and coming face to face with plains game and the Maasai people. Day 1: Depart Nairobi and passing through the Rift Valley to Nakuru Town. After half hours’ drive from here you will be dropped at Maji Moto; a Swahili word meaning hot water. Proceed on to Ndarara Manyattas for lunch. Walk for 1 ½ - 2 hours to Ndarara Camp for dinner and overnight (this is not an established camp, but a makeshift camp as you assist your guide with pitching them up). Day 2: After breakfast, leave Ndarara to Letukunyi, this walk will take you 5-6 hrs through the scattered bushes. Dinner and overnight at Letukunyi. Day 3: Depart Letukunyi early enough before the sun is too hot and pass to Narosora for lunch or purchase what might be out of stock!! After some time with the Maasai in this modern Maasai town, then proceed to Morinjo for dinner and overnight in a selected area. Day 4: Leave Morinjo and walk through the forest (this is one of the few remaining true forestry wilderness area in East Africa). This walk takes you 5-6 hrs. Dinner and overnight at Enkutuo Camp. Day 5: We have two options: (i) Leave Enkutuo and pass along the left side of the Rift Valley via the Nguruman Escarpment to Nguruman Town for dinner and overnight at a local hotel. (ii) Or leave Enkutuo not too early, walk leisurely for 4-5 hrs to Njoro campsite for dinner and overnight. This camp has an excellent view of the surrounding areas which include Lake Magadi, Ngong Hills, Lake Natorn in Tanzania on a clear day. Day 6: After breakfast descend down the escarpment and through small farms to Nguruman Town for your journey back to Nairobi via Lake Magadi and Olgasaile Pre-historic sites and arrive in Nairobi late afternoon. Day 1-2: Days white-water rafting on River Nile (from Spekes camp or Bujagali Falls Camp) Day 4: Mount Elgon trekking (see details programmes) DK32. 5 DAYS (MT. KENYA CLIMBING) (I) NARO-MORU ROUTE Day 1: Nairobi – Naro Moru Leave Nairobi for Naro-Moru town for lunch. After lunch drive to the Youth Hostel for the rest of the day and night acclimatizing. Day 2: Naro Moru – Met Station After breakfast, leave the Youth Hostel and drive to the main gate. Start ascending the Mountain through the rain forest for ten kilometers to the Met Station for dinner and overnight. Day 3: Met Station – Mackinders Hut After breakfast, continue ascend to Mackinders camp for dinner and overnight. Day 4: Mackinders Hut – Met Station Wake up very early in the morning around 2.30 a.m. and attempt point Lenana via Austrian Hut. After Point Lenana (17,058 ft), descend down to Mackinders Camp for breakfast and then descend down to Met Station for dinner and overnight. Day 5: Met Station – Nairobi After breakfast, descend the last bit of the Mountain from Met Station via Naro Moru main gate for a short drive to Naro Moru town to catch your transport to Nairobi where the tour ends. DK33. 5 DAYS (MT. KENYA CLIMBING) (II) SIRIMON ROUTE Day 1: Nairobi – Nanyuki Leave Nairobi by public means accompanied by our mountain guide for lunch. Spend the remaining part of the day acclimatizing due to the sudden change off altitude. Dinner and overnight at a hotel in Nanyuki. Day 2: Nanyuki – Old Moses Transfer from your Nanyuki hotel after breakfast to the Sirimon gate where the climbing starts. Walk through the rain forest for 9 Km (5 hours walk) to the first mountain hut – Old Moses (3300 m) for dinner and overnight. Day 3: Met Station – Mackinders Hut After breakfast continue ascend to Mackinders camp for dinner and overnight Day 4: Shipton Hut – Old Moses Early in the morning we climb to Point Lenana 4,985 m (17,058 ft). On a very clear day we should be able to see Mt. Kilimanjaro in the south, Mt. Elgon to the west and Indian Ocean to the East. We descend to Shipton camp for main breakfast and soon after, descend to Old Moses for the night. Day 5: Old Moses – Nairobi After breakfast, transfer from Old Moses to catch transport to Nairobi where tour ends. DK34. 5 DAYS (III) UP SIRIMON DOWN CHOGORIA Day 1: Nairobi – Nanyuki Leave Nairobi by public means accompanied by our mountain guide arriving nanyuki in time for lunch. Afternoon is spent in Nanyuki acclimatization. Dinner and overnight in a hotel in Nanyuki. Day 2: Nanyuki – Old Moses Camp After breakfast, drive to the Sirimon Park Gate and begin your 5 hour hike to Old Moses Camp, 3,330 m above sea level for meals and overnight at the hut. Day 3: Old Moses Camp – Shipton Camp After breakfast, walk from Old Moses Camp via Mackinders valley to Shipton Camp (4,200 m). Dinner and overnight at the camp. Day 4: Shipton Point – Lenana – Mintos Hut Wake up very early in the morning around 2.30 a.m. ready to hike to Point Lenana (4,895 m). On a clear day we should be able to see Mt. Kilimanjaro in the south, Mt. Elgon to the west and Indian Ocean to the East. After Point Lenana descend to Mintos (4,250m) for breakfast then proceed to Road Head for lunch and dinner and overnight. Day 5: Road Head – Chogoria – Nairobi After breakfast, an early walk will take us to Chogoria for lunch then back to Nairobi arriving in the afternoon having conquered Mt. Kenya. DK35. 5 DAYS ABERDARES Day 1: Depart Nairobi and drive through Kikuyu-land to Nyeri in time for lunch. Explore the Provincial Headquarters on foot and later in the veening visit one of the local pubs. Dinner and overnight in a hotel (budget). Day 2: Drive to Mweiga Park Gate Headquarters to pick a ranger (this is compulsory). Drive to Karura Falls where the trekking starts. Trek through various options to Chania Falls with picnic en-route. Dinner and overnight in a selected campsite. Day 3: Hike for 16 Km to Wanderis and trek through various options with picnic lunch en-route. Dinner and overnight in a selected campsite. Day 4: After an early breakfast head upwards through various options to Satima Summit, from the summit descend to Wanderis Road Head for dinner and overnight. Day 5: After breakfast, leave the ranges via Wanderi Gate to Mweiga Park Headquarters where you drop the ranger. Drive back to Nairobi for your next destination. DK36. 4 DAYS MT. ELGON TREKKING Day 1: Leave Bundari Village after breakfast and hike for 13 Km to Sasa River Camp (2,800m) through the rich highlands. Dinner and overnight at the camp. Day 2: After an early breakfast, hike for 5 Km to Mude Cave Camp for lunch. Explore these ancient caves once used as hide out in tribal wars. Dinner and overnight at the camp. Day 3: Leave after breakfast and hike up to peak Wagagai (4,300 m) and the Jackson summit which are lower than Wagagai (4,200 m). Descend to Sasa River Camp for dinner and overnight. Day 4: Descend the last bit of the mountain to Budandari Village where the trip ends. An optional of an extra day to visit the hot springs and the Caldera is advisable.
